Contradictions as sources of change for products and communications

 
Divided market shares, elusive consumers who are not easily categorised, fluctuating trends… these contradictory or paradoxical phenomena characterise our times and create a necessity for new instruments of research.

This is why Sorgem and JPL consulting have developed the SHIFT System®, which is based on the idea that a population, a market or a client base can be understood through the major contradictions which run through them.

The Shift system uses an original combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies which identify and examine the individual precursors of each theme or each market.

This method is used to draw up an annual panorama of western societies for forecasting purposes, through the contradictions which exist within them. The results of this research are available of a subscription basis.

It is also mobilised on an ad-hoc basis to identify emerging trends within a given sector, specific consumer demands or brand positioning possibilities.
